Meet Leonard
I am Leo Hear Me ROAR!
Actually, Hi I'm Leonard. I really can't roar. I can bark on occasion but tend to be fairly quiet. I love to have the zoomies. I am good on a leash and good with most other dogs. Cats well...that's when I find my inner Lion. I like to chase them.
I'm an excellent puppy babysitter. And I love kids, but little ones may get knocked down by my constantly wagging tail,

The fine print: RAWL adopts by application process not first come first serve. The application can be found on the RAWL website www.rawldogs.org
Once approved an appointment is scheduled. Approved applicants can expect to leave with their new dog. If you are not ready to adopt please do not fill out the application. We can not hold dogs for more than a few days. RAWL does not ship or transport dogs. All out of state adopters must have a verifiable vet reference.
Leonard 2-3 year old neutered male Pit Bull/Lab and I'm sure several other breeds are in him for good measure.
Leonard came to RAWL from an over crowded small shelter. In order to keep him alive he was crated long periods of time. When he arrived a RAWL he was quite the active guy! He has a great heart and tries really hard to please. First class goof ball. With his wiggle butt he would do better in a home without very small children he just can't help but be overjoyed by wee little ones presence.
Leonard is interesting. In the shelter his brain is much more active and his focus comes and goes. ( we let our dogs out at least 4 times a day and 3 times in the evening) But when you take him out on the walking trails his demeanor mellows and he's more focused and obedient. It tells me in a home he would most likely be a pretty mellow guy with bursts of energy.
Leonard has been great with other dogs. But some dogs find him to be too playful. So he would do best with an extra bossy tell him like it is dog or one with like energy. He is a little too interested in cats but also has not offered to hurt our cat. However, it would be best if he was in a cat free zone.
