Low rider Leon was found as a stray and taken to the county shelter. Home Fur Good got lucky when county decided to bring him over to find his forever home. Leon is unique: he is a four-year-old, 10-pound Dachshund and Chinese Crested mix. He has radar ears and a nubbin tail that does not stop. HFG should have a Name My Mix contest on this little guy. Several conversations have been had, trying to pinpoint exactly who or what Leon looks the most like. He is being a doggie ambassador right now, sharing his kennel with shy guy Floyd. Leon does things first and Floyd will follow his lead. Leon shows how great it is to interact with the humans, because then you get the belly rubs and the treats, the greatest things in the world. The adoption fee for Leon is $350, which is higher than it would be under our normal fee schedule. That is because he is one of our Guardian Angel dogs. Guardian Angel dogs are highly desirable adoptees, and their increased fees are used expressly to help defray costs for our rescues with special needs such as advanced medical treatment or training for behavioral issues, or for those who are with us for unusually long periods of time. In this way the Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues! All adoption fees include spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
