Meet Leo Lovebug

Meet Leo the lanky goofball of your dreams!

If joy could wag its tail, it would look exactly like Leo. This one-year-old Lab/Shepherd mix (we think!) is the perfect blend of sweet, silly, and snuggly. Hes got the most beautiful tan/apricot coat, big expressive ears, and those adorable little forehead wrinkles that give him a thinking real hard look even when hes just wondering if youre about to drop a snack. And his trademark move? That goofy little tongue that hangs out even when his mouth is closed its pure comedy gold.

Leo is what we like to call a professional good boy. Hes house-trained (yep, he lets himself outside like a total genius), kennel-trained, and even walks on a leash like a pro. He sleeps through the night, plays hard in the morning, and then takes the best, most dramatic naps youve ever seen. Hes goofy, gentle, and endlessly lovable the kind of dog who just makes your heart feel lighter when youre around him.

See what this boy is all about in his video!!

Leo LOVES other dogs like, big goofy play bows, tail wags that move his whole body, and happy wrestling sessions, kind of love. Hes currently living with two dog friends and thinks theyre the coolest. Hes also cat-friendly, though he sometimes forgets cats dont always want to play tag (his hearts in the right place ).

Hes been around kids, too, and would be a fantastic family dog, especially in a home that understands hes still a big puppy with lots of love and energy to share. Whether its chasing toys in the yard, going on adventures, or curling up beside you after a long day, Leo just wants to be part of whatever youre doing.

His foster sums it up perfectly:
Leo is THE perfect puppy! He only chews on his toys, walks better on leash than my own dogs (dont tell them I said that!), and is just the happiest, sweetest boy ever.

Leo would thrive in a home with another friendly dog to play with, but hed also be happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. He could easily do well in an apartment or house as long as he gets some playtime, cuddles, and mental fun, hes good to go!

If youre looking for a dog whos equal parts cuddle bug, comedian, and best friend, Leos ready to wiggle his way straight into your heart (and probably onto your couch). One look at those floppy ears and that silly tongue, and youll wonder how you ever lived without him.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dogs growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gapranging from $100$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
