Leo Terrier & Shar-Pei Mix Phoenix, AZ

Leo is sweet. He is a lap dog and so loving. Leo was trapped in Waddell, AZ with six other dogs. They were all so timid, finding comfort being with each other. It has taken Leo a while to feel secure and there are moments when his past sneaks up on him and he drops into the defensive position expecting the worse. But today he is surrounded only by love and kind hands. Leo is very affectionate and enjoys time on his foster mom's lap and romping around with other dogs. We would like to see Leo go to a home that is on the mellow side but active as Leo is still a youngster (6-7 months) with lots of energy. He still gets startled by fast movements and loud voices and we are reminded that he is still healing from his past. Leo is a unique pooch, he has a shar pei feel and look but he small, perhaps 15lbs. He is a true mutt. Leo enjoys walks and does well in the car. He loves other dogs and would most likely become friends with a cat or two.
