Meet Lemmy
Lemmy is available for adoption!
Lemmy is approximately 3 years old and reported as being good with other dogs and cats.
If you are interested in Lemmy - you MUST meet the following qualifications:
1) No children in the home. Period.
2) Must have working knowledge of acclimating dogs with resource guarding quirks. Resource guarding is a legitimate issue that some people don’t understand. Please review this link https://www.preventivevet.com/dogs/resource-guarding-in-dogs
3) Understand that dogs with past trauma need time to decompress and may be difficult until they trust you. Give them structure. Give them space. Give them time.
4) If you understand these requirements, and still feel like you are an appropriate fit for Lemmy, please put the term, “I am an appropriate placement for this velvet hippo” in your application. No statement = no consideration.
PERSONALITY TRAITS
Poor Lemmy is so scared in the shelter and very confused about how he ended up there! His owner surrendered him due to resource guarding issues that made them nervous about how he would do with their small children. He’s very nervous and scared but when he’s out in the yard he warms up right away and zooms around and leans in for pets. He loves butt rubs and belly rubs and likes to play with a ball. He’s such a nice guy who just needs a home to call his own.
