Leia. This fearful senior chi ended up on the streets of Miami and in the shelter… our mission knew she deserved better and saved her last week! Leia of course is intact (not spayed!) rotten mouth full of fistulas and never had a dental or dental X-rays! Every single soul that comes out gets a full work up! This includes chest X-rays that are sent out for professional read, dentals, dental X-rays, large panel of bloodwork (also in house and sent out if needed) a Cytopoint shot, convenia shot and of course spayed/neutered! We do assessments multiple times during the stay at our vets office due to the degree of how sick they are when they come out! It’s common for them to come out of the shelter with pneumonia and or severe kennel cough! The shelter does shots and that’s about it… they unfortunately do not do bloodwork or any type of work up! They are too busy so this means we have larger bills! $42,000.00 we paid in vet bills in May! That’s a lot of vetting and a lot of seniors saved! Please help us meet our goal for Leia! Leia didn’t deserve to be thrown out like trash but definitely deserves a clean bill of health and a dental that she can eat!
