Name: Leerick
Age: 2-4 years old
Gender: Female
Dogs: Yes
Cats: NO
Kids: Ages 12+
Strangers: Friendly girl
Special Needs: Fenced yard is a much and breed experience is needed.

Leerick came to rescue with her sister, Robyn. They came to care from a place where they were not socialized and not given any real life experiences. Since arriving in foster care, Leerick has come a long way and is ready to find her furever home!

Leerick would love a home with another laid-back dog (or her sister, Robyn!), her size or larger. She loves "pack walks" with the giant breeds in her foster home and will do well with another Big Dog to play with. No small dog please, she IS a hound after all, and NO cats. She is good with children ages 12+ and some kids to romp with would be super fun!

Leerick, like a lot of hounds, loves her own voice! She has that deep, amazing hound bay that houndy people love. Inside she is a laid-back, calm girl. Outside she is calm, but loud. Also typical hound is her stubborn streak. Breed experience will help here for sure.

She is a couch napper and would love to snuggle up on her blankies on the couch with you for whatever your favourite program is, or even a long afternoon nap. She is not super high-energy and one hour-long walk per day will do her. A big fully fenced yard is a must for Leerick, she does the "follow your nose" hound thing if off-leash so a secured area is needed.

Speaking of follow your nose, Leerick would like to make leashed walks an Olympic pulling event. She needs someone to work with her on her leash skills, both they pulling and the nose to the ground all over the map style she has perfected.

Leerick is, all in all, a very laid-back, independent thinking, very friendly girl who loves life and would be a great addition to any family who is lucky enough to share their home with her.
