Meet Lebatt: The Affectionate Great Dane

We are looking for a foster home for a beautiful, healthy 5-year-old male Great Dane named Lebatt. He has been taken care of to the highest standard—neutered, with gastropexy, recent bloodwork, and up-to-date vaccinations. Lebatt loves snuggles, belly rubs, and paw massages. His owner had to take a job that requires frequent travel and needed to rehome him and his brother.

Lebatt is energetic and very affectionate with his people. He is the perfect cuddle buddy and forms an immediate bond with new people. He is house trained, has never met a cat, but is good with children, including his 9-year-old human brother.

Lebatt loves routine and likes to sleep on his dog bed covered in a blanket, drifting off to sleep listening to his white noise machine. He sleeps all night and loves to start his day with an over-easy egg on his breakfast kibble! He does need to be fed separately and has shown some signs of resource guarding with food and toys.

Lebatt is working with his current foster family on leash manners as he tends to pull. He is also working on being less reactive to the sounds and sight of animals on TV, which can get him a bit worked up if other dogs respond to his barking. We are seeking another foster family because the resident dog at his current foster home is reacting negatively to Lebatt being vocal and wanting to be the alpha dog. They have had several scuffles but are able to take controlled leash walks together.

We are looking for a home with only one other dog, preferably a submissive female.

Lebatt will come with the following items to his new home if you wish to have them: a winter coat, holiday bandannas, a raised water dish, a very large clean dog bed with sheets and blankets, a white noise machine, a collar and leash, bath soap, and bags of food.

Lebatt can also be a foster-to-adopt!

All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt.
