Meet Layla - adopted!
Layla arrived at our shelter with her sister, Laci. She is 5 years old, and about 50 pounds. Layla was initially guarded to trust strangers. She was frightened. She has reversed that feeling and is exceptionally friendly and social today. Each day she is excited to see us.
Of the two girls, Layla is the more assertive of the two. She often seems to be protective and sometimes competitive of her sister.
The girls spent much of their 5 years kenneled. Sometimes exercise and play with children was allowed. No fenced yard was available. As a result, they did not make friends with other dogs and today they seem protective of their status.
Layla can be a heartwarming gal and a second chance with a loving family is exactly what she should have.
These shelter dogs are at risk not to be saved. ADOPTION FEES APPLY- Puppies $100, Dogs are $75, Cats $50
Please visit or make an inquiry by calling this number 606-663-4998. Leave a message on voicemail if you miss the staff. Your calls are VERY IMPORTANT to us!
The shelter is open Monday thru Friday from 9 - 3 p.m. except Thursdays (closed). Saturday hours are 8 - 11 a.m. although an appt may be necessary for Saturdays. After hours appts can be arranged with advance notice and, preferably, an approved application. We want to accommodate!
For an alternate phone, call 859-948-0371. We are glad to answer any questions. Adoption rates are low and include a spay or neuter and rabies. Surgeries are mandatory!
