Like her namesake Rose Lavelle of the US Women’s National Soccer Team, SCCR’s Lavelle is happiest when chasing a ball with her teammates.

This 1-year-old Pit Bull/Retriever mix has all the best attributes of her breeds: she is playful, happy, and affectionate. An excellent team member, Lavelle is doing great with housebreaking, is good in her crate after a few minutes of whining, and sleeps through the night. For her, life is all about playing, so she’ll grab her ball, a tug toy, or a stuffed toy (hers, or someone else’s) and let the games begin! Like any good soccer player, Lavelle is happiest running around the yard.

Lavelle’s coach says, “She is a great dog that is very loving, energetic, goofy and playful. She has a ton of energy and gets really excited when she sees you for the first time in a while (especially in the morning) and when she gets home from walks. She is great with adults and older children. She can be pretty jumpy at first, but then calms down — it’s just that she really loves people. She is really a sweet dog!”

Because of social distancing norms, we are unsure how Lavelle is around other dogs or cats, though best guess is that she may tend toward being timid.
