Meet Laurel

VISIT LEIASHOPE.ORG FOR OUR ADOPTION PROCESS.

Requirements:
Vetting requirements (see our website)

Laurel is a sweet and goofy girl ready to bring some joy to a lucky family! There are not many dogs as great as a lab! They are active and good with kids and ready for whatever adventure life throws at them.

Laurel was rescued from a terrible puppy mill with a breeder who has a reputation of not taking good care of his dogs. She came to us with an upper respiratory infection. She has been treated and is now ready to move on with life!

Laurel is in a foster home with kids and loves to play with them and hang out with the entire family. She also enjoys playing with the foster's dog. She loves toys and running around the yard and is good in her crate.

Laurel's adoption fee is $415. She is not spayed and a spay contract will be required. The spay is covered by us if using our vet. She is current on age appropriate vaccines (subsequent vaccines at adopter's expense), microchipped and on monthly flea and heart worm prevention. Visit leiashope.org for an application and our process.

WE DO ADOPT OUT OF THE AREA, HOWEVER, WE DO NOT SHIP NOR ARRANGE TRANSPORTS. YOU WILL HAVE TO COME TO DECATUR, IL TO MEET THE DOG. IF FLYING, DOGS MUST FLY IN THE CABIN AND THE EXPENSE OF THE HEALTH CERTIFICATE IS ON THE ADOPTER.

THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS.

IT CAN TAKE AT LEAST 7 DAYS TO PROCESS AN APPLICATION SOMETIMES LONGER DEPENDING ON VOLUNTEER AVAILABILITY AND NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED SO PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE ARE VOLUNTEERS WITH FAMILIES AND FULL TIME JOBS AND DOGS OF OUR OWN TO CARE FOR.

IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): YOU MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE OR SOMEONE HOME ALL DAY. PUPPIES NEED TO BE LET OUT TO POTTY OFTEN, THEY NEED SOCIALIZATION AND BONDING AND NEED TRAINING (HOUSETRAINING AND BEHAVIORAL TRAINING). IF YOU WORK LONG HOURS, HAVE A BUSY SOCIAL SCHEDULE OR NOT FINANCIALLY SECURE THEN A PUPPY IS NOT FOR YOU.
