Lady's Story
Lady, 2 yr old, 42 lbs, pitbull. Lady was found outside of the finder's apartment door without tags. She had a bite on one of her back legs and seemed a bit thin and scared. They got her checked out and she was fine (the bite has healed and needed no further medical attention). She has a very sweet temperament and mainly just wants to stick by your side and play all day. She’s somewhat high energy and seems to have some puppy behaviors still but will also lay down near you if you can’t play at the moment. She loved playing with some other dogs on a play date and showed no aggressive behaviors. We are not sure about other small animals like cats. She does love to chase squirrels.
She loves toys but can be a bit destructive with them (durable chew toys are great for her but stuffed toys don’t last long). She’s very well behaved though and won’t chew on shoes, furniture, or other things that she isn’t supposed to
She’s not a picky dog and hasn’t had any problems with dry food. Her find has found that she loves cheese but doesn’t seem to care that much for peanut butter. She’s also not food aggressive at all and will gently take treats from your hand. She mainly will only eat if she’s hungry and will leave food in her bowl for later.
We have no history with children and would recommend a home with kids 12 and older. She is house and crate trained. She is leash trained, but is a little anxious on walks. She knows sit and shake. Lady is a very active dog and would do best in a home with another dog and an active family
Lady is in a foster home in portland Oregon

If interested in adopting, please fill out an application
https://heartoftheunderdog.org/adoption-application
