Meet Lacey - Courtesy Post
Breed: Pit Bull Terrier - Labrador Mix
Estimated Date of Birth: April 11, 2018
Size: 38 lbs
Location: Decatur, GA
Lacey was originally found in a church parking lot and lived with a woman who was a Caregiver by profession. When she had to take a 2nd full-time job, Lacey had to be left alone for 48 hours at a time, a few times per week. During that time, Lacey quit eating and got anxious. Knowing that Lacey deserved better, the woman reached out to help and the daughter of one of her clients with Alzheimers took Lacey into her home in October 2019.
Lacey is a fantastic girl! She is housebroken and stays in a room by herself when home alone as she is not destructive at all. Lacey is great with other dogs as she tends to be submissive (her best friend is a Labradoodle!) and is even okay with cats although she may try to get them to play if she's bored. Lacey is happy to sleep on a couch when her people are hanging out or working, but she's happy to turn up the energy level for play time. She's good with all people, including children - her foster-mom hasn't personally witnessed her interact with infants, but she has done well with children. This little lady is a smart cookie and easily trainable because she really strives to please her people. She already knows sit, fetch, drop-it, wait, and she has just started learning the 'place' command. She's also excelling at working on impulse control with treats. Lacey would love a family that will play ball with her and maybe even has another doggie friend for her to play with. She would really enjoy a doggie sibling around her size as she currently lives with very small, fragile Miniature Greyhounds that are not allowed to play rough with larger dogs due to their delicate nature.
