Kya is a female Dutch Shephard mix who was born around September 2020.

Kya was rescued off of Craigeslist and brought to our shelter. She is a sweet girl but is afraid of anyone new and requires a slow introduction. This girl loves to run with her dog friends and is always smiling. Kya is very affectionate, often wanting a hug before she goes outside in the morning. She loves to run! This girl can fly and will play fetch just so she can run around and burn off her energy.

Dutch Shepherds were bred to guard and require physical and mental stimulation to be happy. It is important to note that this is not a breed of dog for beginners and Kya will require training. Because of events we do not know about, Kya reacts out of fear to some circumstances. She is being trained to help her feel safe but will require patience and kindness. This girl only wants to please and feel safe!

Kya's perfect home would be without children as she developed a fear of kids in her previous home. She loves people in general and has even learned to trust men again after last placement but will benefit from slow introductions.

The adoption fee for Kya is $175. This includes spay/neuter, rabies, distemper, bordatella, flea treatment, worming, testing for heartworms and treatment, and microchiping.
