Kronk 's Story

Kronk fka Crockett is a drop dead gorgeous boy! He had a DNA test and is a mix great dane, australian shepherd, weimaraner and beagle (yep, it's true!). He is almost 6 years old and is a long and lean 85lbs(!). Kronk is housetrained, mostly dog-social, and walks well on a leash. We don't know about cats, but we think it's best for him to be in a cat-free home. Kronk is currently living with another dog, but might thrive as an only.

Kronk is crate-trained and can go for long stints with a mid-day walking break. He does get a little anxious when left alone, and doesn't like loud noises so he enjoys listening to a nice, calming playlist while he is home. He loves going on walks with his daily walking group, going to doggy daycare and playing with his friends, though he can't get a bit overexcited and given his size, not all dogs love him. The upside of that is that he listens when another dog corrects him. He likes to splash around in water but never took to swimming (though it would be great exercise for a big boy like Kronk). Because Kronk is a big guy, he can get anxious in tight spaces because he can easily feel cornered. The ideal placement for this beauty would be in family who will keep him engaged with play and enrichment and has a larger home, with plenty of space to run.

Adoption fees cover age specific vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm/lyme/ehrlichia test, worming and transport fees.

Adoption fees:
Through 6 months of age $450;
7 months to through 5 years $400;
6 years and under 9 years $325: bonded pairs are $500;
9 years and older $250: bonded pairs are $300

Almost Home Rescue of New England is a 501 c 3 non-profit rescue; rescuing dogs since 2005. All Adoption applications are completed on line at www.almosthomerescue.net

This dog is available unless it is marked as Pending, meaning Pending Adoption. This dog is in foster care locally, ONLY if Maine or New Hampshire is listed next to the dogs name; otherwise, the dog is still waiting with our partner rescue for an adoption or foster home in New England.

PLEASE NOTE - We will check your veterinary reference, to ensure that current and prior dogs have a history of being kept up to date on rabies and distemper, have had annual heartworm tests, and are on heartworm preventative at least 6 months of the year. Current pets must by spayed/neutered.
