Kraken Corgi Gig Harbor, WA

Kraken, the 4 1/2 year old Corgi, is a very smart and loving guy. He's sweet and affectionate, loves being with his people and also enjoys his quiet time and naps. Kraken is very easy going and super friendly, loves everyone he meets. He can be barky at people and dogs but he is only telling them nice things!! He is very anxious around toddlers/small children...he prefers a more predictable and peaceful environment. Kraken is crate trained, house trained, knows standard commands - sit, stay, no, come, paw, roll over, speak. He loves to play with similar-sized dogs, he enjoys going to daycare.
He has never been exposed to cats.
Kraken likes to sleep in the room with foster mama, sleeps on the floor close to the bed (he is welcome to sleep on the bed but cannot get up there!!) – he sleeps thru the night. In the morning he likes a good belly rub, lays on his back and makes the cutest sounds as he is so happy that the day is starting!! Such a happy boy~~
Kraken is very overweight (a little over 50 lbs.) and needs to lose about 15lbs. and we are working on that. He enjoys several short walks a day as he tires easily due to his weight. He will stop dead in his tracks, sit and refuse to move forward when he has had enough ~ so needs to be coaxed. We expect his walking endurance will increase as he loses weight.
Kraken needs an all adult home, or one that has 8 years or older respectful children. He also needs a home with a fenced yard (not invisible/electric fence),

We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.
