Meet Kona
Hi, my name is Kona! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Senior lovebug, friendly, gentle, young at heart
-Can Live with Kids: Yes, respectful children of any age, at the adoption counselor's discretion. Due to her age, this senior dog is not a good match for rowdy kids who will put pressure on her joints.
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, lived with cats in the past and reportedly "tolerated them". Slow introductions for best chance of success.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes
-Can do Apartment Living: Yes, with regular walks and potty breaks.
-Potty Trained: Yes, but please ask staff for details about my medical history.
-Bite History: None
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Nope! I know my basics and I'm well-mannered.
-Energy Level: Low - my spirit is willing but my body is getting older. I love short bursts of activity.
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No
-Additional Information: Kona came to WHS when her primary caretaker passed away and she needed someone to look after her. Kona is a retriever through and through: she's bright, easy-going, affectionate, and she loves to play fetch, though she can't play for as long as a younger dog would anymore. Kona would be a wonderful addition to a home that can match her mellow energy, take her on a daily evening stroll, toss a ball for her, sneak her a treat or two, and offer her a secure place to live out her golden years. In exchange, she'll love you for the rest of her days in a way only a sweet, senior retriever can. If you know, you know.
