Meet Koda
Koda is a 60-ish pound teddy bear disguised as a dog—except he doesn’t know he’s 60 pounds, and frankly, he doesn’t care. This guy is all about the soft life: belly rubs, couch time, human companionship, and a deep, committed relationship with whatever bone you hand him.
He’s the kind of dog who greets you like you’ve just returned from war (even if you just went to the mailbox), flops on his back with a dramatic sigh for some tummy love, and then settles in as your shadow for the rest of the day. He’s never met a person—kid or adult—he didn’t like. And if there’s a small dog in the house? Koda’s already their biggest fan, gently and awkwardly trying to be their best friend without realizing he’s double their size.
But let’s talk about his quirk: big dogs. Koda’s been side-eyeing the oversized crowd since puppy class, and he’d very much like to keep it that way. He doesn’t bark, lunge, or show an ounce of aggression—he just nopes out and hides behind your legs until the coast is clear. He's got zero drama in him, just some big feelings about big dogs.
He’s fully housebroken, crate-trained, and happy to hang inside with you as long as you’ll have him. Not leash-trained yet, but only because he’s been living the backyard life and doesn’t wander. At all. Open the door, he’ll take care of business, then trot right back like he’s got a meeting to get to. He’s not the kind of dog who’s looking for the next big adventure—he’s the one who wants to stay close, feel safe, and love hard.
Koda would thrive in just about any home that gives him love, stability, and space to be his sensitive, soulful, snuggly self. He doesn’t need a pack. He doesn’t need long hikes. He just needs his people—and maybe a small dog buddy to admire.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, low-key best friend who will think you hung the moon and also let you vacuum his belly without complaint—Koda’s already got his overnight bag packed.
