Meet Kobe

Kobe..... beautiful with soulful eyes and a loyal, loving personality. That just about sums up this jet black beauty. When Kobe was up north, he was a tad unsure in the mayhem of where he was staying, but since being liberated, this boy is snout in the air, tail wagging happy pappy!

Kobe is an average labrador size, around 55 lbs, and at 4 years old, he's done with all the silliness of youth and now he's left with the best characteristics of an already delectable personality. Kobe starts his day with an offleash leg stretch and as he has become more comfortable, he now has his snout out and is at the ready to follow it. When he catches a sniff, he is off with his tail wagging like a trained field dog. But he always comes back to find his foster mum and she is totally chill with how far he explores because she knows the northerns very well and they always come back.

He likes to run with the other four leggeds but his top priority right now is transitioning from his world up north to his new and glorious world down south. Northerns bond quickly to their fosters and then work through this phase and Kobe is currently happiest when he is in his crate if he can't be near his foster mama. This is normal and he will work through this phase when he's more settled.

Kobe had a family up north that included kids so he has been well handled by little people. Kobe would be fine with older, gentle children and like any dog who has experience with children, gentle, respectful family members are welcome.

Kobe is currently fostering with other northern dogs and he is thriving. He gets along with all the home dogs and new females but needs proper introductions with males. When he sees a new dog while on leash, he pulls hard and barks. This is new so foster mum is figuring out what works best for him around male dogs. Otherwise, he's a good boy, taking in all the new things that he's experiencing and still giving so much back.

Like so many homeless dogs right now, Kobe is looking for his very own peeps. He wants love and affection and who wouldn't want to give that to this handsome fellow. Kobe is good with cats and if his leash anxiety dos not get sorted, he would do really well in a country setting where he doesn't have to meet all sorts of new dogs.

If you like to hike, walk trails, have a cottage, and lots of love to give, this guy is looking to be your copilot in life. Car ride. Yup, Forest walks. Yessirree. Boat ride.... ahhhhhh, that would be new but Kobe's up for whatever you're up to!

Kobe is up to date on core vaccinations, dewormed, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $750. He is currently fostering in the Caledon area.

**A consult with IFAW’s partner dog centric behaviourist is mandatory for anyone interested in adopting Kobe at a cost of $80. This consult gets everyone on the same page and well on their way to success.

Adoption process includes application, virtual home visit, phone interview, reference check, meet & greet, adoption contract and $750 adoption fee.
