Little 7-pound Kit was found in a backyard in the cold of March. Despite what she’s been through in her past, this 11-month-old girl is sweet, sweet, sweet.

During the day, you can find Kit alternating between playtime and nap time. She loves zooming around the yard (snow or not), jumping on the coffee table, playing with *cough* shredding *cough* toys, eating ice cubes, giving kisses and snuggling with her people. Kit also loves food. In fact, we’re pretty sure she’d sell her soul for a cheeseburger.

Because Kit trusts her human to guide her, she walks super well, often checking in by looking up.

Kit currently lives with small dogs and would be cool having a canine brother or sister that coexists calmly but is also up for a game of chase!

Kit doesn’t currently live with any cats or kids. She has met one cat and seemed pretty indifferent. Kit would do best in a kid-free home or possibly with older, dog savvy teens.

Since this girl didn’t have a whole lot of training in her previous life, she is continuing to work on potty training. She knows that she gets treats for going outside and also has a backup potty pad in case the humans don’t get her out in time. She will just need consistency much like a younger pup until she gets the hang of it.

Kit “sits” on command and even knows to sit (instead of jumping) if she wants attention!

While Kit loves her people (seriously, if you don’t know where she is, she’s probably right under you), she takes some time to warm up to strangers. She will need you to advocate going slow. Luckily, you can buy her love with food!

True to the ways of the Chihuahua, Kit barks at anything that could be an intruder so she needs a single family home (no shared walls). A fenced in yard would be super awesome but isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker.

We know there are lots of Chihuahuas out there, but with that red hair and those green eyes, forget about it! Kit will steal your heart and make your house a home!

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.

Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the applicant is willing to drive to cities as needed.
