Meet Kit
Hello there. My name is Kit. My story is a sad one, but I'm hoping for a happily ever after with you! I belonged to a single dad of three kiddos and was well-loved and happy. Unfortunately, I came down with an auto-immune disease that affected my skin (you can see how bad it was in the last two pics, and how much better it is in the other pics), and was too expensive for my "dad" to afford to treat.
Luckily for me, the great people at Rescue One took me in and began treatment, and I am well on my way to recovery now. I only need a daily Omega supplement and to have my condition monitored in case I need future treatment. Because of my special needs, you can adopt me at a discounted price.
I am a good mix of high energy and laid back. I have become much more playful and energetic since I've been feeling better. Because of the medication I was on (steroids), I occasionally have had a few potty accidents in my foster mom's home, but I was completely house-trained in my prior home, so I don't think that will continue to be a problem for much longer. I get along great with dogs, dog-savvy cats, and respectful, sturdy children (I sometimes jump on people in my playful excitement, so I might accidentally knock smaller kiddos down). I love to go on walks (though my leash skills still need work, as I tend to pull some). I am good in a crate. My ideal home has another dog and/or kid to play and hang out with and a fenced yard. An apartment with a dog park would be okay, as long as I get plenty of exercise and time off-leash to run and play. I would love to be your best friend and spend forever with you! Please fill out an application today!
My adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! We do adopt out of state with vet references and video home check. *Adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out*
