Kirksey American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Silsbee, TX

My name is Kirksey and I came to BFF Rescue by way of a HIGH KILL SHELTER in our area in September 2019. Knowing my fate another rescuer pulled me at that time and ask BFF to take me in.

I was finally adopted early 2020 to a WONDERFUL HOME. They loved me very much, but life can sometimes take a turn (and Covid did a number on a lot of people) and a new job came along for my family, a good move for them, and I am unable to go along. So knowing what was best for me, with much sadness and a lot of tears, they have re-surrendered me back to BFF.

Then in October 2020 I went to live in a rural area with a nice man. I was to be the apple of his eye. All was going well, until he got a companion dog and we started wandering off to the neighbors and getting in trouble and harassing their dogs...So...here I am back at BFF.

Then I went out of state with a new family for about 5 months...all was going so well until they put me in a crate for a while with their smaller dog who had been my friend for 5 mo...but the crate was a little bit too small, there was a tiff..and they felt it in the best interest for me and their 1st canine child that I come back to BFF...

So..here we go again

I am the perfect girl, I am crate trained and house broken, but of course my family has to pay attention to me and make sure I am allowed to go out for regular pottie breaks. I am still a little puppish, so there is some jumping, chewing and I just want to play. I play well with others, get along with all the other dogs in my foster home. I am a stocky strong girl so, consider this, I may not be good match for a home setting with small children.

I am a beautiful, sweet girl and if you are wanting a small dog, I am not a match.

I am up to date on vaccines, spayed, on month heart worm preventative and flea prevention. Heartworm negative. My adoption fee is $250.00

I can be strong willed. I need a stern, patient, encouraging parent/handler.

If size is an issue, please adopt an adult dog.

There is an adoption application process and a home visit will be required. Your location is not an issue.

REMEMBER WHEN ADOPTING A DOG, IT CAN BE A 15+ YR COMMITMENT, SO PLEASE ….ADOPT RESPONSIBLY!!!
