Kirby Mixed Breed Bellingham, WA

Kirby is a very sweet and affectionate young pup currently living with her foster family, which includes one cat and no other dogs. She is working hard on learning lots of important dog skills, including socialization with other dogs. Kirby can be a little awkward and rude when meeting new dogs, but she is eager to please - especially when hotdog treats are involved!

Kirby adores affection and loves a good belly rub and snuggle time. She's easily entertained by her toys and enjoys lying on her bed, quietly watching the household activities without being underfoot. Being outside is one of her favorite things, and she has recently become quite obsessed with squirrels.

Kirby is friendly with her foster family's cat, although she can sometimes be a bit pushy when the kitty doesn't feel like playing. However, she is always gentle and never tries to harm her feline friend.

She also loves going for walks and enjoys being off-leash on more remote trails, where she can practice her excellent recall. In calmer environments, Kirby never wanders far and stays closely connected to her person. While her off-leash manners around other dogs still need some work, she shows wonderful loyalty and responsiveness.

Kirby would thrive in a calm home without other dogs at this time, where her new owner can continue building on her training and help her become her very best doggy self!
