Ummm, hello up there! It's me, Kirby, the little 11 pound, 5 year old Maltese mix down here! Do you see it in my eyes? My patented "I love you" look? I use it on humans hoping it will stick with at least one of them. You see, I am a Chicago-area dog who was surrendered when my owner lost their home.

I am a bit anxious when left alone but otherwise, am an all around great dog. Among my many life accomplishments are the facts that I am completely housebroken; I know sit; and am good in cars and on leash. As a bonus, I am a fast learner. I came into my foster home and blended in right away.

As a pretty spirited guy, I think I would enjoy an active person or family that would include me in their daily comings and goings. I will also snuggle up right next to you on the couch — especially at the end of the night. At night I sleep in my crate next to my foster's bed, but truth be told, I would much rather be in the bed.

Other dogs in the house, big or small? That's no problem for me, I like to hang out with them. Because I am so people friendly, I don’t like to be left alone so I am hoping that my forever people are frequently home.

Well, I hope you got a glimpse of the love I have to share by the look in my eyes. It’s much more effective in person — come meet me on Saturday!

If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. :-)

However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.
