Meet Kipling

Half-brothers, Kipling & Rowan, were dumped at a very high kill pound. Sadly as bad as this pound is, where they were before arriving at the pound was just as bad and maybe even worse. These beautiful boys along with the seven other dogs from this same situation were kept chained up outdoors and only fed barely enough to keep them alive. Thankfully they are safe at STAF. Both Kipling and Rowan are Boxer mixes.

Kipling looks to a Boxer and maybe Great Dane mix (we see it in his eyes:). We think Kipling may be closer to two years old. Since both Kipling and Rowan had been starved for most of their life we have been very careful on how we are feeding them, making sure they work their way up to eating a full meal twice a day.

Kipling has a “hoe-di-doe” kind of attitude that makes this boy just an easy and fun dog to be around. Kipling seems to appreciate and find joy in everyday life at STAF. We really can’t say that about every dog that comes to STAF. Kipling’s glass is always half-full:). Kipling plays well with other dogs and can often be seen leaning into his favorite volunteers. Kipling also likes to take long walks with the STAF folks and seems so grateful to have this opportunity for a new start in life. You can see it in his eyes.

Both Kipling and Rowan had such a rough start in life and we want to be sure that their next life if full of love and lots of happiness. It is always so amazing to us to know dogs like Kipling and Rowan and what they have been through. But they carry no grudges, they never complain and although they will most likely never forget, they somehow manage to forgive and go one to be devoted, loyal and loving family members.

Kipling’s estimated birth date is September 2015
