Kip's Story
-Written by Kip, a 10-month-old, 72lb male Great Pyrenees mix.
---------------------------------------------

Play. Cuddle. Repeat. My name is Kip and I am the kind of dog that will steal your heart. I love to play. In fact, my favorite thing to do is to play with the other dogs. I would play with them all day long if I could. However, when they want their peace I will go track down some toys and chew on them. Once I have played my heart out, I will go in search of my people for some pets and cuddles. I am a big fan of cuddling on the couch with my people or the other dogs. I am not picky about who I cuddle with. I love being outside. I may not play fetch with you, but I will happily wrestle and play chase with the other dogs. Once I am done, I will come running up to you with the biggest grin on my face and be in absolute when you start petting me. If I am feeling really happy, you may even get some kisses! Playing in the yard isn't my only hobby. I also love going for walks, who knew that there were so many scents to investigate and places to explore?! I cannot believe that I have only recently discovered how much fun walks could be! I know some people love to go swimming but I have not had the chance to go yet. I am not sure if I would play in the water, actually, go swimming, or turn my nose up at it and walk away. I am very curious to find out though!

I am a pretty curious pup. I love to be involved in whatever you are doing, and love trying new things. In my past life, I didn't get out very much. It was the same thing over and over. I didn't get exposed to much, I didn't get much attention, and I didn't get fed all that well. When things did finally change for me, it led to me ending up in the shelter. For a pup that just wants to explore and play, being behind bars was quite frustrating. I wanted to be with people. I wanted to play with the other dogs. I wanted to be more than just a shelter dog. I almost didn't get the chance to though. I almost didn't get the chance to leave the shelter. When my owners never came for me, and no one adopted me...I ended up on death row. I really needed a hero, and that is when this rescue came for me. They gave me my second chance, and I don't plan on wasting it!

Let's see...we have talked about my personality and we have talked about my past. What am I missing? Hmmm...OH! House manners, I have heard that they are quite important to many. You will be pleased to know that I am potty and kennel trained. I am still young so I do recommend that my new family puts up their valuables, but as of now I have not been a big chewer. I am also not a big barker, but I will join in if the other dogs are barking. At night, I like to be close to my foster mom and will often sleep on a doggie bed in her bedroom. Given my size and personality, I do not think that I would enjoy apartment living. I really love being able to go out in the yard and run and play with the other dogs.

Speaking of other dogs, I am pretty sure that you have caught on that I do great with them. I am quite playful with them, but may initially be a bit shy. I have not met a cat. I am unsure how I would react to one, but as long as they did their own thing I think I wouldn't pay them too much attention. I am being fostered around a kiddo as young as 5 and have done really well with her. My foster has taken me to a few public outings and I have done great! I get excited when it comes to meeting new people, and am quite friendly and lovable with them!

I know that my story isn't all that different from other dogs. I don't want to be just another "abandoned shelter dog" though. I am so much more. I am Kip. I am playful. I am sweet. I am cuddly. I am happy. I am handsome. I am my own dog and I hope that you will truly see me. I hope that you will see that I am the boy for you. I hope that you will see us together forever. And when I say forever, I mean forever. Please don't apply to adopt me if you only plan on us being temporary. I have already been someone's until....and look where it got me. This time around, I want it all. I want forever! ♥

If you are interested in adopting me and becoming my FUREVER family, please fill out an adoption app at
https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once your app comes in, it will be sent to my foster family. This is to help ensure that not only am I a good fit for you but that you are also a good fit for me! ? And then...then my dream will have fully come to life.

I am currently residing in Moore, OK. If you have fallen in love with me and are out of state, how about a road trip? I won't go on a long transport, so the only way I am relocating to another state...is if we are in that car together ?

My adoption fee is $250.
That will include my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

EPILOGUE
-Below is an excerpt from Kip's foster family.

"Kip is a very sweet, playful, affectionate, and loving. He loves his foster siblings more than anything. When he’s not playing with them he’s chewing on toys or sleeping next to me on the couch. He loves getting attention from people and is very food motivated. If he smells food on the counter he might jump up but listens very well and has almost completely stopped doing it. Kip is a very smart, submissive, and loving boy. He’s been absolutely amazing!"
