Meet Kip

Intake date 10 March 2021
.
Two year old neutered male
.
Kat, Kit, and Kip were turned over to a shelter -- reason given? puppies. Our assumption is that Kit and Kat are left overs from a litter, and Kip is 'daddy', but of course, we could be wrong -- it's just a guess.
.
What are they? Unknown. Border collies? Aussies? Crosses? Your guess is as good as ours. What we do know is that these are 'very' shy guys who have loads of potential to be great partners and companions.
.
They are all quite similar in temperament and potential, as well as needs. They will not be placed together -- entirely too much co-dependency -- however, they will each need other happy, confident, people friendly dogs within the home. They will need humans who are dog experienced, and are extremely patient -- willing to allow their new dog to blossom at their own pace, while also pushing the envelope just enough to reinforce that humans are wonderful. Classes will be a must, if only to expose them to real life, other dogs, and strange humans.
.
Brought along carefully, we see no reason that these fellas won't become friendly to strangers in time, as they are coming around quickly with one on one and TLC here.
.
They are excellent with other dogs, cats are unknown, as are children, so we will not be offering them to homes with young children.
.
This dog is located in Maryland - we do not ship or transport dogs. For information on adoption, an FAQ, and our application, please see our website at mabcr.org. If you are interested in adoption, please submit an application, complete with documentation.

PLEASE READ our procedures for adoption prior to making inquiry regarding this dog. If you are looking for additional photos, video, or information on this dog, you will likely find that by searching our facebook page for their photo/description album.
.
Please see our main website at www.mabcr.org for more information regarding the adoption of this or any dog from our rescue.
.
Please note that while this dog is currently available, any dog on our site may have an adoption pending and may not be available to you at this time. The same dog may later become available if the adoption falls through.
.
Our website www.mabcr.org will give you details on our adoption procedures as well as an application for adoption. An application must be submitted prior to 'matching' an adopter with a dog as all dogs do not fit into all homes. We pride ourselves in our adoption process, we take the time to get to know our adopters so that we can place a dog with them that they can enjoy for years to come.
.
Please understand that we will not discuss dogs with individual adopters until after the application process is completed.
.
Our rescue does not have a public facility, therefore there are no visiting hours. Appointments to visit with the available dogs are made after the application process has been completed by our staff.
.
To assist any dog within the MABCR organization, please consider making a donation to the general fund or to the medical fund. All dogs coming into our rescue are fully vetted (s/n and core vaccines) prior to adoption.
.
Rescuing animals is quite expensive. If you are unable to adopt, but would like to help this, or any other animal in our system, please consider a sponsorship donation.
For information on our sponsorship program, please contact Sarah at SLR@mabcr.org.
.
Thank you for your interest in Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue.
