Kinsley’s Story

Kinsley's journey began in early January when she was initially discovered beneath a house in Thompson, Georgia, along with her two surviving puppies.

Home for Good responded swiftly upon learning of their precarious living situation, as the area had been enduring heavy rainfall for several days. Our dedicated team promptly ventured beneath the flooded house, rescuing Kinsley and her pups from the rising waters. If it weren’t for HFG, Kinsley and her puppies who have never made it out of the situation alive.

Initially, Kinsley is reserved when meeting new people and dogs, which is understandable considering her past. Before HFG intervened, Kinsley spent her entire life as a stray, never experiencing the safety and love she deserved. Recognizing her plea for a second chance, Kinsley’s foster family welcomed Kinsley into their compassionate care, providing her with the time, patience, and abundant attention she required. Placed in a foster home alongside other dogs, Kinsley began to flourish, revealing her playful and inquisitive nature. She now seeks affection from people, delighting in belly rubs and snuggling on the couch.

Kinsley displays exemplary behavior within the home. She is very eager to please her people and has already mastered housebreaking and crate training, although she is so good she doesn’t even need one.

With a collection of toys to keep her entertained, Kinsley also loves to cozy up in a dog bed or on the couch for leisurely naps. Additionally, she adores long walks and hikes on a leash, as well as accompanying on car rides.

Now, Kinsley patiently awaits an adopter who will open their home and heart to her. It is recommended that she finds a family with older children who can offer patience and understanding as she continues to acclimate to a life filled with care and affection. Another dog in the household is not only beneficial but a *must* for Kinsley, as they can guide her along and help her navigate her new surroundings and life in her forever home.

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life!
