Doggy-Day-Out update: Today I took, sweet, 11y old King, out for brunch at Mama's Boy! This sweet, gentle boy was incredible meeting strangers, ever so careful taking treats and was the best passenger in the car. The manger even came out to bring him some bacon ?!!
King was great in the interaction pen. As SOON as I brought him out of his kennel he used the bathroom on the grass (maybe house trained). He was good meeting both a female and male dog through the fence.

King is a friendly senior, and as the volunteer coordinator put it, he's "a talker." I heard him in the groom room as he let out a howl for someone to take him outside. I leashed him, and he happily led the way to the interaction pen. King hasn't had the best care. He's missing fur, and he has a growth on a back paw. He doesn't let that bother him--he was outside with a friend and happy. His joy made me smile. He loves treats and pets, and after a little exercise, was ready to chill in the shade. He's a nice dog with smiles and tail wags for everyone he meets.
