Meet King - pending adoption
Meet King! He is 2 years old and almost 90lbs, We believe him to be a Newfoundland mix. King loves to cuddle and be near you, and he also loves to be near to his dog friends in his foster home. King would be most comfortable in home with at least one other dog to show him the way.
King is good with kids, always keeping a watchful eye on them. He is also unaware of his size and can knock smaller kids down when excited. We do recommend he be with older kids, and kids who have been around dogs before because of this.
King knows how to sit and shake with lots of encouragement, but don't be fooled he is not the biggest fan of treats! He does well in a crate while you're out of the home. Since he is yet to be neutered he sometimes marks while left unattended in the home. His fosters use belly bands which help him mitigate this barrier, and neutering will also help. In addition, he has difficulty walking on a leash, as he is unfamiliar with the joys walks bring. Most times he will freeze and lay down to roll over if you leash him or touch his collar. His new home will require a fence.
King needs a loving, patient home to show him the ways of dog life. His adoption fee is $300.00. That includes all vaccines up to date, rabies, microchip and neutered. If you have an interest in this big boy, you can email sue@pawsandprayers.org.
