Meet King

Hi, I am King. I am a super good looking 8 month old black/rust male Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. I currently weigh about 60 lbs, but I am still growing. Since I am so young, DAR&E requires that I have a fenced yard. No invisible fences. I am very sweet and LOVE to cuddle and snuggle with my people. If you are looking for a velcro buddy I am your guy! I love people and know not to jump on people when they visit. I am still a puppy but I try to be a good puppy! I am hoping for a family that will help me continue to learn how grown-up dobes are expected to act. I learn fast and really want to make my new family proud of me! I am already house-trained and I love my crate when it’s bedtime. I even know how to ring a bell to let you know I need to go out! My foster mom is teaching me some basic obedience, but I will need someone who has the time and patience to continue my training. I love playing with my foster mom's 3 dogs so a home with a dog or 2 that likes to play would be so much fun! I have lots of puppy energy to burn. I think cats are so much fun to chase, but my foster mom said no cats for me. I guess the cats don't think it’s as much fun as I do.

You are probably wondering how such handsome, sweet guy like me ended up in rescue. Well, I hurt my hip when I was a pup and I guess my owners didn't want me after that so they left me at an animal shelter when I was about 5 months old. That wasn't very nice of them but I was really lucky that the shelter people realized what a nice dog I am so they sent me to one of those big time Orthopedic surgeons. He performed his magic otherwise known as a Femoral Head Ostectomy. Wow! That's a mouthful isn't it! Most people just call it an FHO. Here is a link that my foster mom says explains what it is. All I know is man it sure made me feel better. Now that the pain is gone I just need to catch up on the lost time that I couldn't run and play like a normal dog. It’s great to be able to run and play with the other dogs and just be a normal dog again! https://tinyurl.com/3rmmlqsz

Well, there you go. That’s me in a nutshell, as they say! If you are up for a young, exciting pup like me, email my foster mom to arrange to meet me.
