Meet Kimmy
Meet Kimmie!
About 1 year old and 42 pounds.
Sweet as apple pie ?
Crate trained ?
Loves belly rubs ?
Good with other dogs ?
Kids ?
(Note re kids: Any age will work if given time but best fit right now is 6 yrs or older. She’s still working on manners by not jumping and spacial awareness.)
Cats ? (probably ok but not fully exposed to them on a daily basis)
Kimmie came in from a rural shelter and was too scared to unload from her crate. She had to be carried to her foster mom’s car. Kimmie is slowly learning to walk on a leash so a fenced yard might be the best fit to start.
It’s clear that she’s still young because of the occasional shoe snacking and that she was under socialized as a young pup. Shy and timid is her default but she is starting to show bursts of social interaction and a desire to be with humans instead of afraid of them.
This week will be a big step in her socializing by going on more car rides and hanging out at school football practice with her foster family.
Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
