Meet Kevlar (Jager)
Kevlar is a 4 year old shepherd mix who came to us from a rescue group that was closing. They had pulled Kevlar in December from a high kill shelter in Alabama where Kevlar had been left by his owner after being brought for boarding. He weighs just over 50 pounds.
Kevlar is a friendly boy who gets along with other dogs. He does better with females and submissive males that aren't bigger than him. He has crate anxiety and cannot be crates.
He has some energy and likes to run around and play a bit. Kevlar is doing good on house training, but will need a refresher when moving into a new house with a new schedule.
Kevlar can jump baby gates in his foster home and loves to go to the door, wanting to go outside. He has adjusted to the snow and cold weather of Minnesota no problem. Kevlar is currently fostered in a home with a 6 foot privacy fence.
He is sweet and wants to please. Kevlar has been treated for heartworm - he requires a family that will ensure annual heartworm tests are done and he needs to receive year round preventative which will cost around $10 per month.
Kevlar is a great boy who will make a wonderful family member.
Adoption fee is $400.00 + tax (no checks)

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.
Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
