Kernal's Story

Hi, my name is Kernal.
I might look a little intimidating, but I promise I’m not as tough as I seem. I came to the shelter after my previous owner passed away, and sadly, no family came forward for me. At first, that made me pretty sad—but I’ve come to see that things aren’t so bad here. I’ve got a cozy bed, food, and water whenever I want.

When I first got here, I was pretty skeptical of the other dogs I was put with out in the yard. But now that I’ve been here for a while, I’ve learned to enjoy being out with a group of dogs of all sizes. I just like to be the macho man of the group, so I prefer not to hang out with other macho males.

Still, as nice as things are here, I can’t help but dream of having a home of my own again. Not because I don’t appreciate what I have now, but because I remember how good it feels to be loved and to belong somewhere.
