Meet Kenya
Hello! I'm Kenya, and I am a Shepherd/Cattle Dog (best guess) mix. I am looking for a home that is going to be patient, willing to work with me, and keep me busy. I am a very sweet girl once I feel comfortable, just ask my foster mom! When I feel safe, I become a playful pup who loves to give kisses and receive belly rubs. I can be a snuggler at times, but I prefer to initiate those cuddles. I love balls and rope toys, as well as dog safe chews. I am very food motivated, but I don't like to share. When I eat or receive high value treats, I feel more comfortable in a room where I have plenty of space away from others or eating them in my kennel. I get really excited for food and treats so my foster mom has really worked hard on getting me to sit consistently before getting my treat.
I have enjoyed playing with some of the dogs in my foster home, but my favorite time is when I get one-on-one time with my foster mom. I would do best as the only dog, but with the right dog, would do well with a fur sibling. The one exception to preferring one-on-one time is when I get to play with another foster pup in my home, Zoro.
Because of my herding nature, a home without little children is a must. Older children who are respectful of boundaries and will give me my space when I need or want it would be just fine. I do have some anxiety, which I am taking meds for, so I will need a family who is willing to continue these meds as well.
I am house and kennel trained, and have adjusted well to my foster mom's schedule. I am a very good listener and will sit when told. I am working hard with other commands, and am a quick learner. I have mastered leave it with toys, and am starting to do it with treats! My foster mom says that I am just the sweetest girl and is doing everything she can to help me find the perfect forever home!
Please give me a chance and set up a meet and greet to get to know me! I just may be your perfect fit!

The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration).
Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
