Meet Kayce
Meet Kayce! She is about 6 years old and 34 lbs. This sweet girl was an owner surrender. Her parents were rarely home and she developed severe anxiety when locked in a kennel. She became destructive in her kennel and would injure herself trying to get out. She also developed food allergies and they just didn’t want to take care of her anymore. Â
Well now it's like night and day! With some training and a lot of love and nurture from her foster family (and the right food), she’s a completely different dog. Her foster mom is completely in love with her and calls her the perfect dog who just simply doesn't want to be left alone. She’s so calm, relaxed and great with kids of all ages although her food allergies must be watched around littles who drop food frequently. She loves to cuddle and be anywhere you are and is doing so much better in her crate after building trust.
She LOVES being outside. When it's cooler out and you are outside then she's happy to spend all day out there with you. She's also great in the car and likes to sniff a lot on walks. She is housetrained on hard floors but can get confused when there are fuzzy area rugs because they feel like grass.
She'd be a great only dog because she is obsessed with her humans. She doesn't mind other dogs but she'd be fine with spurts of play with the young pups or just co-existing with another older pup.
The family & home we are looking for (1) has someone home almost all the time, (2) loves having a cuddle buddy and a shadow, (3) has a fenced backyard for lots of sniffing, pottying and sunning, (4) is local to the Houston, TX and surrounding drivable area and (5) has a lot of love to give to a calm 6 yr old sweet pup!
We are so proud of Kayce's progress and can't wait to find her furever family where she will flourish!
