Katie American Bulldog Mix Williston, FL

Katie was rescued from a local shelter after being there for 5 mos. She was fostered immediately by one of our wonderful foster families as she was so frightened and withdrawn. She was just about broken by her past experiences.

Katie is a Bulldog mix. She is spayed and vaccinated and deemed completely healthy. She is estimated at just over 2-1/2 yrs old and weighs about 55 lbs. She obviously had puppies at some point also.

Katie's Foster Mom says the following about her: "She was completely shut down when we got her and would not interact with us or walk on a leash upon arrival. Now, she is walking well on the leash and enjoying human attention and belly rubs. She is crate trained and housebroken also. She is not high energy but does need an energy outlet of some type on a daily basis (a walk or playtime). She does seem a little younger than her estimated age and still likes to chew, so she is crated at night. She does make doggie friends, but is selective about which dogs she likes. If she does like a dog, she will play hard. She has lots of energy when playing so needs a dog with an equally matched energy level. She is not overly focused on chasing wildlife so she may do okay with cats." We would do a "meet and greet" in any potential adoptive home to be sure that all get along. Katie has improved so much since being in her foster home. She does well with a confident owner or foster as this helps her to feel more secure. She has been to a couple of adoption events recently which were quite busy and she did great. She met and interacted with many people of all ages. She was also fine around other dogs.
