Meet Katie
If you are interested in adopting, please apply directly with bigdogrescueproject.org/adopt.
Available for adoption in WA and OR. Katie is fostered in Port Orchard, Washington and is available for meet and greets to pre-approved adopters.
My name is Katie and I am excited to find a family of my own where I can settle in and be the couch potato I was meant to be! Last year I was found pregnant on the streets of Texas and was taken in by Big Dog Rescue Project. They’ve helped get me and my pups healthy and now that all my kiddos are adopted, it’s my turn to find a home!
I recently made the trek to my foster home in WA and this is what my foster mom has to say about me: Katie is 2-year-old 60lbs lab mix and a complete LOVE BUG. She can be timid at first with new people, dogs, and scenarios, but warms up quickly. Now that she is done with rowdy puppies, Katie’s dream is to live a simple life of creature comforts like all-day couch access, a daily walk, a good antler to chew on, and a yard to patrol for squirrels. Katie would do best in a quiet home with no small kids or cats. She has enjoyed the companionship of other dogs in her foster homes but can be reactive/fearful to new dogs that come into the house. Katie is a very attentive and a kind dog and is doing well learning house manners. She is learning commands like sit and down, does best when provided a doggy door and access to the yard to use the restroom, isn’t destructive when left alone, and has a healthy bark to alert her people of any and all mail deliveries.
Our adoption fee includes age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping and transport expenses. Adoption fee is $475 to help offset travel and medical expenses.
All children at home should be at least age 5 to be approved for adoption!
