Karl's Story

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

Meet Karl! 11 months old as of 1/14/23, Karl is neutered. Great Pyrenees/Boxer mix. 2 hr adoption radius. Currently weighs over 50 lbs.

Great Pyrenees were bred centuries ago to work with shepherds and herding dogs in the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain. The dog’s job was to watch the flock and deter predators, whether wolves, bears, or livestock rustlers. Great Pyrenees are an immensely powerful working dog, bred for their protective natures. Their courage when defending the flock has always been legendary.

Karl, as is true to his breed, is a vigilant guardian of his home and family. He would benefit from an experienced adopter, with previous large breed and/or Great Pyr experience. Karl does well with other dogs, especially puppies, and would do well with another calm centered dog in the home that can help him gain confidence in new situations.

Karl is potty trained and crate trained. Given the opportunity he would love to sleep in bed with his human! He is very sweet and lovable, and completely devoted to the people he feels are his family. He does not always do well with strangers, and for this reason we are looking for a quiet home with no children and a LOW traffic level of visitors.

$195 Adoption Fee

All puppies are dewormed, started on heartworm and flea prevention, and microchipped. Karl is also neutered.

All puppies will be adopted with current, age appropriate vaccines, given by Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue. Peppermint Pig Animal Rescue will provide their puppy series DAPP vaccines, given at 6, 8, 12, and 16 weeks of age. Karl has received all of his puppy series of shots.

The spay/neuter and puppy vaccines are included with the puppy adoption fee. Karl is already neutered.

Karl has a 2 hour adoption radius because vaccinations and neuter are complete. On application, check that you are adopting a puppy but if you live within 2 hr radius (via Google maps from your address to ours 8454 Beechmont Ave Cincinnati, Ohio 45255, then click yes that you are within the radius even though the question is asking if you are an hour away) Please see our Adoption Radius tab on our website for more info, here:
https://peppermintpiganimalrescue.org/adoption-radius/

Along with other criteria evaluated in the adoption application, a Fenced Yard is required to adopt.
Please see our Fenced Yard Requirements tab on our website for more information, here:
https://peppermintpiganimalrescue.org/fenced-yard-requirements/

TO CHECK AVAILABILITY of any of our adoptable animals, please go to our available pets tab, here: https://peppermintpiganimalrescue.org/available-pets-for-adoption/

All pets listed here are updated regularly to reflect their availability.

ADOPTION APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR PEPPERMINT PIG ANIMAL RESCUE:

Before completing the application, please read our ADOPTION PROCESS tab on our website, here:
https://peppermintpiganimalrescue.org/how-our-adoptions-work/

To complete our easy online adoption application, please visit our website at PeppermintPigAnimalRescue.org.

Adoptions are held at our Adoption Center inside Peppermint Pig Thrift and Gift on Saturdays from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
