**I know I am cute but please read my full bio as I have significant medication costs!

Hey guys, I’m Karl, and I’m going to cut right to the chase here. I’m big. Like really big. So if you’re here looking for one of those little dogs you can fit in a tote bag, you might want to scroll elsewhere on the website.

See, the only bag I’m going to fit into is maybe a sleeping bag if we go camping sometime, but I promise that with my big body also comes a really big heart with a whole lot of love. I am completely happy to spend the day relaxing with my people with maybe a short walk or two. I like to bring my toys to show my foster mom when she comes home, just to know I’ve been thinking about her while she’s away.

I sometimes lean on my people to let them know that I love them and that I’m ready for some affection. I also love to roll in the grass and play with my plushie toys. I’m a pretty stereotypical “gentle giant,” actually. I get along great with other dogs (I live with a couple of chihuahuas in my foster home and they are my best buds!) and I’m just as friendly and easy going as can be.

I know I sound perfect (and, well….I am!) But here’s the thing. I have some pretty severe allergies and I don’t think anyone has offered me a lot of medical support for them until coming to PawsCo. So I have a lot of catching up to do to get my allergies under control. PawsCo has invested SO much in identifying what my allergies are and the most effective way to get me back to a healthy place. So that’s a great thing! The tough thing is that my medication and special food is all quite pricey (due to the medication itself and also because I’m so big!) For the next 6-12 months, my overall monthly cost will be in the $480-$500/month range. From there, my monthly food/medication cost should drop to $280-$300/month (because I’ll be able to wean off one of the pricier meds at that point.) PawsCo can give you a ton more information but our team asks that you only apply for me if you’re comfortable with supporting long-term medication needs for a pup my size.

Do you have (a lot) of room in your heart for someone like me? Email my friends at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org and check out this information page: https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process.
