Kangaroo is a young Maltese/Yorkie/Poodle puppy (DOB 1/11/23). He was cosigned to a breeder auction and his freedom was secured by Leia's Hope.
Kangaroo is a fearless and busy boy! He is not aware of his tiny size (currently 2.5-3lbs) and will jump over and through anything in his path! He is persistent with his play with other dogs and would do best with a tolerant, young and active dog. He is the cutest little guy, that if it weren't for him being constantly on the go, you wouldn't think he is real!
Kangaroo was treated for Coccidia (parasite infection). This is common with dogs coming out of a puppy mill. His stools should be retested within 30 days after adoption.
Kangaroo's adoption fee is $415. He has received his age appropriate vaccines (subsequent vaccines are at the adopters expense), he is microchipped, and been dewormed. Kangaroo is too young to receive his neuter. A neuter contract will be enforced. The neuter is covered by Leia's Hope if using our vet partner. Visit leiashope.org for our process and the application to adopt!
WE DO ADOPT OUT OF THE AREA, HOWEVER, WE DO NOT SHIP NOR ARRANGE TRANSPORTS. YOU WILL HAVE TO COME TO DECATUR, IL TO MEET THE DOG. IF FLYING, DOGS MUST FLY IN THE CABIN AND THE EXPENSE OF THE HEALTH CERTIFICATE IS ON THE ADOPTER.
THE APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE WE CAN START THE PROCESS.
IT CAN TAKE AT LEAST 7 DAYS TO PROCESS AN APPLICATION SOMETIMES LONGER DEPENDING ON VOLUNTEER AVAILABILITY AND NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED SO PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE ARE VOLUNTEERS WITH FAMILIES AND FULL TIME JOBS AND DOGS OF OUR OWN TO CARE FOR.
IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 9 MONTHS): YOU MUST HAVE A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE OR SOMEONE HOME ALL DAY. PUPPIES NEED TO BE LET OUT TO POTTY OFTEN, THEY NEED SOCIALIZATION AND BONDING AND NEED TRAINING (HOUSETRAINING AND BEHAVIORAL TRAINING). IF YOU WORK LONG HOURS, HAVE A BUSY SOCIAL SCHEDULE OR NOT FINANCIALLY SECURE THEN A PUPPY IS NOT FOR YOU. PUPPIES ARE A 15 YEAR COMMITTMENT, IF YOU CAN'T COMMIT TO THAT TIME FRAME THEN CONSIDER AN OLDER DOG.
