Kane! Kane has paid his dues. Kane also beat his odds. Kane spent his first three years of his life on a chain. A family reached out to us during the brutal summer heat last August. Falling of hard times, they were losing their home in just a few weeks. Not only did they have Kane on their property, tethered to a tree, they also had pigs living in deplorable conditions. Over the next few weeks, our focus was not only to find Kane a safe place to land, but also to find a rescue for the pigs. It had been weeks since the family had running water, not only was Kane drinking green, old, dirty leftover rain water, the pigs were in a 911 situation as well. Fast forward to today, Kane is adjusting to life off of a chain, living with his foster dad, exploring the world off of the chain, while also adjusting to boundaries to help him with his life in front of him. And the pigs are doing equally as well :) Speaking of Kane's life in front of him, he is ready to continue his journey. Kane is a sweet, sweet dog. He will thrive in a home that is on the quiet side, a home that can take him on walks, hikes, but also continue with his training. Kane will need to be an only dog as his foster dad has no other pets and Kane seems to thrive being an only pet. Kane is kennel trained, does well around people and loves to go on car rides. Kane is about 3.5 years old. He is a lanky dog, a mix of a collie type and terrier. He is an affectionate dog, always wanting to rest his head on a lap or lean his body on your leg.
