Meet Kammy. When we first saw this sweetie, we thought she could be the long lost sister of Tubby, a former ACS guest recently adopted. Not only does she look like Tubby, she has the same sweet personality around people. She is not always as welcoming toward other dogs, however. Although she came from a home with at least two other dogs, Kammy's first reaction, at this time, to a dog she doesn't know is to growl at them. A supervised introduction will allow you to find out if Kammy considers your dog 'friend' or 'foe.' Given how emaciated she was when she arrived at ACS and the frantic nature in which she attacks her food bowl, it could be that Kammy was bullied by another dog that kept her from getting the nourishment she needed. If that's the case, we can't say that we blame her for not being immediately welcoming around other dogs. We don't recommend Kammy for a home with young children only because she may try to snatch food from them and accidentally nip a finger or two. Her voracious appetite aside, Kammy is a great little dog. She's very affectionate and loves to hop up on your lap for some cuddling. We don't know if Kammy is house-trained but she does a good job of using the newspaper in her kennel to take care of business. She'd rather potty outside, however, and can hold it quite awhile waiting for her 'outside' time. At just a little over 10-lbs, Kammy is a great size if you like your canine companions to tag along with you. To meet Kammy and find out if she'd be a good fit for you, just stop by our shelter. She can't go to a new home until after she's spayed but we taking applications on her now.
