Dear Future....I'm ready! My name is Kala and I am a beautiful 40 pound, 8 -9 year old female English Shepherd mix. Unfortunately, I have endured more than most dogs will ever endure! I lived on my own for a long time before I was trapped in the Bennett Springs area with my puppies. Hard to imagine, but I was shot in the face and still have BB's in my nasal cavity. Even though I came to believe that people can be cruel, I was saved by Rescue One and now I know that I can be loved for who I am. I will need my forever person to be full of love, patience, and understanding.

I am house and crate trained and actually love my crate. It reminds me of a dark cave that I used to sleep in. I need a home with adults (no small children) and dogs my size or larger (no small dogs). Slow introductions to new dogs is very important. I would be just fine as an only dog. I do love to go on walks and not to brag, but I have great leash skills! I love to play in my privacy fenced yard and due to my history of being on my own, it is best to continue to have a privacy fence so I don't get any ideas. My adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
