KAIA IS BEING FOSTERED IN TEXAS BUT IS ABLE TO TRAVEL TO IOWA ON ONE OF OUR UPCOMING TRANSPORTS.

Kaia, a Pit mix with Boxer, that is 1.5 years old, was rescued from the euthanasia list at a small county shelter in Texas due to lack of space, and now she's ready to find her forever home!

Kaia is a blue-eyed, snuggle-loving girl with a heart full of love. She is deaf, but that just means she's learned unique ways to connect with people. When she greets you, she'll wrap you in a big hug—her way of saying, “I love you!”. She also enjoys sitting close to you so she can feel safe and communicate, since she can’t hear. Kaia is crate-trained, house-trained, and learning sign language at her own pace (treats definitely help!). She is super food-motivated, which makes learning fun!

Health Update: Kaia is heartworm positive, which is common among strays in the South. The good news is that she has completed treatment and is on her way to being heartworm negative soon. If you have any questions about her health, please don’t hesitate to reach out via email. Kaia is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, on monthly preventative, dewormed, and microchipped.
