Meet Justice
No kids under 12, no cats, no first time dog owners.
Hello world! My name is Justice! I am a Pit Bull mix that was found here at the shelter. I was tied up to a light pole with a split bag of dog food and a toy. Terrified isn’t even the word to explain how I was feeling. My own family, leaving me behind and me not knowing why. Thankfully, a staff member discovered me around midnight. It took a lot of coaxing, snacks and sweet talking to get me inside. I found it hard to be trusting of new people, but I have blossomed into quite the social butterfly! I do need a family that has no children, so 12 years and older. During my time here, it was discovered that I displayed resource guarding behaviors. The nice team of people here worked with me through this and I am at a point where I can be adopted. My new family has to understand that sometimes these behaviors resurface, so continued training is very important. I am a smart girl and catch on to new things quickly. I have a lot of energy and will need plenty of exercise. I know basic commands, but sometimes forget my manners and become mouthy/jumpy when excited. I cannot live with cats, but might do well with the right dog friend. I did seem to want to play, but I become a little over stimulated. It will depend on the other dog and how we do meeting here before I go home. I also could be just fine being an only pet. If you’re an experienced dog owner that can commit to a girl like me, ask to meet Justice!
