Meet Juno

Juno has been in our network since Dec. 2017. She was undersocialized at her surrendering owner's home, and developed a pervasive suspicion of people in general. She will take treats from her foster family's hand, but doesn't want to let them close enough to touch her collar when outside in the yard. When in the house, she will sidle up for pets when the pack seeks affection from people.

With a guesstimated birthday in Feb. 2017, Juno weighs about 40 lb. She shows some aggression to particular dogs and enjoys playing with others, usually males her size. She ignores the cats in her foster home. Juno has a pleasing bark, somewhere between a yodel and a bark. She'll vocalize when looking for attention from her doggy friends.

Juno will go into a crate, and usually doesn't choose to leave her crate when offered the opportunity to go for a walk. Her foster must reach in and clip her up before she'll come out. She's showing better manners on a leash, but in a new environment will try to escape. New things will startle her and cause her to pull away if her handler doesn't have a good hold on the leash.

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we frequently have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. We suggest first time pet owners look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience.

All adoption fees cover two vaccinations plus spay / neuter if using our veterinarian. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply. We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
