We will review your application & email you if you made our short list of applicants for Junie. Please respond within 24 hours if you receive an email from us about making our short list.

*You can check the status of her adoption at www.doodles.petfinder.com or any of our social media pages. We will change her status to adopted when she is adopted.

*We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety and welfare of our dogs. We are all volunteers and have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog.

*You must be approved to adopt Junie before we schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs.

*AGE: 6 months (born June 2025)

*WEIGHT: 37 lbs. She still has some growing to do. We guestimate she will be in the 50-60 lb. range as an adult.

*COAT TYPE: soft wavy lower-shedding coat. Her coat is low-shedding right now; we are unsure if this will change as she ages. Be prepared for possible shedding once her adult coat comes in. Her adoptive family should be prepared to brush her coat regularly and have her groomed regularly with an estimated cost of $120/grooming. Most Doodles have high maintenance coats that are timely and costly to maintain so please consider this before adopting a Doodle.

*ENERGY LEVEL: High puppy energy. Junie is an Aussiedoodle so has Australian Shepherd in her; Aussies were bred to be herding dogs and typically need a ‘job’ in order to be at their best behavior. She is excited to play as soon as she wakes up in the morning, loves to play with the adult dogs in her foster home, and loves to play with her toys. She often has a second wind after 8 pm and some toy time with her or other dogs is ideal. After her energy is expended, she also loves to be petted and lay in bed with you in the evenings.

*DOGS: Junie is currently in a foster home with 3 Goldendoodles and plays and interacts great with them. She would be great with other playful dogs in her adoptive home. She would likely be OK as an only dog if her owner(s) ensure her energy is expended.

*CATS: No experience with cats in foster home. Due to her herding breed, we aren’t sure if she would be OK with cats as she may try to herd them which they likely would not appreciate.

*KIDS: Junie ate a sock and had to have surgery to remove it. She will need a home that will keep her safe and not allow her to get access to items she shouldn't eat. She is fearful of new people and will hide when she first meets people. We think due to her initial fear and sock-eating tendencies she would be most successful in a home with older children. Junie is an Aussiedoodle and has natural herding instincts and can nip at your heels/clothes to ‘herd’ you.

*CAR: She is a little nervous getting in the car but does great once she is in the car.

*CRATE: Junie has been crate trained but she does need time to settle down once in the crate. She will bark or whine for about 15 minutes and then seems to settle in. She does wake up early and is ready to be let out!

*HOUSE TRAINED: Junie is still working house training; her house training is improving each day at her foster home. She is an excited and nervous tinkler.

*LEASH: Junie is just learning to walk on a leash; she pulls and zig/zags in front of you. For that reason, we think she would do better in a home with someone steady on their feet.

*AT VET CLINIC: Junie has done well at the vet for both intake and vaccine appointments.

*GROOMING: Junie did great at her first grooming appointment. The staff loved her playfulness.

Joyful Junie is a 6 month old female Aussiedoodle puppy who was surrendered to IDOG by an owner who knew she needed a home where someone could exercise her and keep up with her high energy level.

Here is what Junie's foster family has to say about her.

Junie loves to be by your side, play with other dogs, or play with her toy. Junie is a good eater and loves treats. She does great with training treats which will help as you continue her training. Junie also loves water!

Everything is new to Junie and she is afraid of all new stuff - she is afraid of noises and will hide and maybe pee a bit. She can be afraid of new people but will warm up - sometimes she pees a bit and sometimes it is a small puddle. We think with continued socialization and exposure to people, sounds and the world that Junie will continue to get acclimated and we do think the excited/scared peeing will subside.

Junie is a typical puppy and still chews. She loves a good sock and will dig through the dirty clothes to find the perfect one to carry around the house. She just had surgery to remove a sock she thought tasted good. Her new family will need to be super careful that she doesn't have access to socks and other items she shouldn't eat. We are hopeful she will grow out of this phase. We often find our shoes in other rooms but never chewed up.

Junie will bond very strongly when shown unconditional love and attention. She will follow her humans from room to room, and loves to observe all that is happening in the kitchen or anywhere her human is hanging out. She'd like to climb into your lap or on the sofa if you let her. She enjoys staying close to you and loves to lean her head against you for a doggy hug or to scratch her head. She'll likely be at your feet or by your side as much as she is allowed.

We feel the ideal type of home for Junie is:
-A home with a yard large enough for lots of daily play and running around
-A home with an active family that wants to walk/run her and do other active activities to expend her puppy energy
-A home dedicated to ensuring she doesn't get access to items she shouldn't eat
-A home dedicated to giving her the time, training, love, and attention she deserves.
-A home that realizes she is still a puppy and will need the time and dedication to train her without frustration
-A family ready for a lot of cuddles and lots of play time!
-A home where someone if home frequently to give her attention, exercise and work with her on training

Adjectives that describe Junie:
*Happy
*Athletic
*Energetic
*Playful
*Snuggly
*Affectionate
*Friendly
*Curious
*Smart
*Food motivated

Activities she enjoys:
-chew toys
-walks - once trained and old enough she would be a great dog to go running with
-being by her human's side
-playing with other dogs
-playing with her humans
-PLAYING!!

There are just a few ‘needs work’ items for Junie:
**house training
**basic manners (remember she is still a puppy).
**continued socialization - she is very nervous with new situations. We think this is because she hasn't been exposed to much in her short life. Once acclimated, she seems to do great.

Junie is spayed, microchipped, current on heartworm/flea tick preventives, and is current on core vaccines.

ADOPTION FEE: $595 adoption fee

ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION:
Puppies and highly adoptable dogs have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting and expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board and train costs, medical/health issues and surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees and our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.

TO APPLY FOR JUNIE-OKLAHOMA, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application

IDOG Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
BEFORE YOU APPLY Please consider all aspects before applying to adopt a dog. Rescue dogs usually come with a few issues and we prefer applicants that have realistic expectations and dog experience. We prefer a physical fence in most cases but will consider this on a case by case basis. Please read through all the information on our website before completing the application. To adopt one of our dogs you MUST first complete our online application. We do require an interview. In addition, a home visit will be required. We only adopt dogs to families who will keep them as inside pets. If you are not willing to work with your new rescue dog and let them get to know you at their own pace, please don't apply for one of our dogs. Returning a dog within 24-48 hours of picking it up is hard on the dog. Rescuing a dog is a lifetime commitment and if you give your all, you will get a great friend in return. They need time and patience. WHO WE ARE IDOG Rescue is a national U.S. foster-based not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization and has remained in good standing with the IRS since 2006 when IDOG was created. IDOG has been offering rescue and rehome services to Doodles, Standard Poodles and Poodle mixes since 2006. We have helped over 3,700 Doodles and Poodles to date. IDOG Rescue was the first specific rescue for Labradoodles and Goldendoodles and is endorsed by both the Australian Labradoodle Association of America and the Goldendoodle Association of America. IDOG is an approved Rescue Partner in shelters across the country and has an outstanding reputation for helping Doodles in need, no matter what color, age or health status. LOCATION OF DOGS IDOG has dogs in foster homes all over the U.S. Please see the location listed in the dog's name (for example, Toby-TX is located in a foster home in TX). In most instances, you will be required to live within driving distance of where the dog is located and to visit the dog in person. IDOG does not ship or transport dogs unless this option is stated in the listing. Shipping is stressful on the dog, and stressful for the volunteer who has to spend many hours preparing the dog and the paperwork, transporting and waiting at airports. It is not simply a matter of paying the shipping charge. We will only ship a dog if we cannot find it a home near where it is being fostered. ADOPTION FEES All of our IDOGs have an adoption fee that is non-negotiable and non-refundable. OUR ADOPTION FEES RANGE FROM $100 - $750 depending on the dog. We will require the adoption fee be paid prior to or when we transfer the IDOG to its new family. The adoption fee helps IDOG with the expenses related to the care of all of the dogs in our program and is not directly tied to the expenses incurred for that particular dog. Adoption fees allow IDOG to continue doing our life-saving work as we are 100% dependent upon adoption fees and donations to cover the costs of the dogs in our care. Each dog is assessed individually to determine the adoption fee. It currently costs IDOG an average of over $400 for basic vet, grooming, and foster care on each dog; that does not allow for the ones who get sick, need surgery, have special needs, or are heartworm positive. Adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, core vaccines, fecal test/dewormer, heartworm testing, heartworm/flea/tick prevention and microchipping. All IDOGS are evaluated by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. HOW TO APPLY To apply for any of our dogs, please complete the application on our website: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application REHOMING ASSISTANCE - FOR FAMILIES WHO NEED TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THEIR DOODLE/POODLE IDOG Rescue also provides assistance and support for people who need to find a new home for their family pet - our motivation is to get these dogs into homes that understand the temperaments and needs of these energetic, playful & loving dogs.
