Meet Juliette! She is an EXTREMELY shy (but very loving) one-and-a-half-year-old Black Lab and Hound mix! Both Hounds and Labs are known for their incredible noses and ability to pick up scents and run with it! Juliette is no exception, especially being a combination of both breeds. Because of this, as well as her being very skittish, she will require a fenced-in yard in her forever home. Juliette gets along very well with other dogs and they help break her out of her shell. Therefore, it's required she have a confident doggy sibling to show her the ropes and make her feel comfortable. As gentle as she is, Juliette does pull quite a bit on a leash. This comes from being terrified of the leash and being unfamiliar with what walks are. When being trained on walks, Juliette should be secure on both a harness and a Martingale collar, as she will try to escape as soon as something spooks her. This sweet girl is not housebroken and her new family should anticipate a couple weeks of settling in before even expecting her to indicate that she needs to go outside. We are requiring her family have multiple Meet & Greets with her and her Foster before taking Juliette home, in order for her to become familiar with you and not become petrified that she is leaving with another stranger. Juliette’s forever family should expect to give her extra TLC during the transition period into her new home. She will be nervous and anxious, but the patience and work will all be worth it once you see her personality open up. She is incredibly sweet, intelligent, and a joy to be around!
