This pretty girl is Juliette, a 9-year-old German Shepherd/corgi mix. She is smaller than she looks, weighing around 27 pounds. She is like a mini German Shepherd so there is something in her that is keeping her small - maybe corgi or terrier. Juliette has a tan with traces of black really thick coat. She does have a thick undercoat and will need brushing to keep from shedding. Juliette was pulled from our local animal shelter where she had been turned in as a stray. We adopted her out over 8 1/2 years ago when she was about 6-8 months old. She was in a loving home and well-cared for. Unfortunately she was returned to us because the financial situation for the family had drastically changed and they could not keep her anymore.

Juliette is now in a foster home and her foster mom says that Juliette is very treat motivated and knows Sit, Lay Down and Shake. Here's what her foster mom has to say about Juliette:

"The first day I got Juliette, she was very anxious and pacing around the whole house. It was kind of like she was looking for her old owners and just wanted to go outside all the time. The first couple of nights, she would not sleep in my bed and would sleep on the floor. As each day went by, the more comfortable she got. She would sleep no where but my bed and she is very loving to the person that is taking care of her and usually follows that person. If she could be outside forever, I feel like she would be and with the thick coat she has on, this 20 degree weather is not affecting her at all. She also loves car rides and to put her head out the window. Just to be careful she knows how to put the windows down and I always put them down enough just for her head to go through."

Juliette is sweet and attentive. She loves to greet every human she meets, but with other dogs she just sniffs them and walks away. She could do well in a home with other dogs so long as they aren't very playful or a puppy, because she has been known to snap at another dog or two when they get in her face and are trying to play. She also does not like it when strangers get in her face. Juliette is a dog who will be very loyal to her owner and focused on them.

Juliette is a smart dog and is ready to be back in a home environment. She will require a privacy fence but is not to be an outside dog only. She is used to being inside with her family. She is house trained. Juliette is up to date on her vet care, spayed, heartworm negative and microchipped. She is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Mature dogs are great dogs to take on since they are over the puppy stages of chewing and don't have such a high energy level. Juliette has a nice energy level and would enjoy walks and play time but then is ready to settle down and chill out with you.

She has many more years ahead of her to enjoy with a lucky owner!
